The Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are a great place to visit for the day. If you’re like me and you love to explore your roots, at Ellis Island, you feel as if you connect with your ancestors who may have come over to New York City. You can look up your family name and see which ship they came over on and who they were with! It’s taking a step back in time. You can even explore the hospital where immigrants needed to be healed before entering the U.S. Of course then there’s Lady Liberty herself, who stands tall and symbolizes the United States of America… She is a spectacular sight to see! Take the ferry over and take it all in…

Warning: Climb to the top only if you’re in good (or at least decent) shape!! 354 steps!
My niece staring at wall in Ellis Island, almost as if she was looking back in time!
Day out with family, taking in some US history and our roots! God Bless America!
